Impulso Verde believes that reforestation and ecosystem restoration projects cannot be developed without involving local populations. It is essential that they become aware of the importance of preserving the ecosystems that surround them and that they can establish economic alternatives to deforestation, combining ecology and economy. Communities are the best guardians of ecosystems.
At the beginning of 2020, Impulso Verde signed an agreement with three other NGOs with a duration of 3 years, from 2020 to 2022, within the scope of a project co-financed by the French Development Agency (AFD) called “Restoration of forest ecosystems, alternatives to deforestation and strengthening of civil society with indigenous communities, Afro-descendants and / or victims and displaced persons of the internal conflict in Colombia”
This project focuses on three areas of the country: on the Caribbean coast with the Envol Vert Foundation, in the Amazon with the Forestever association and in the department of Nariño in the Andes with the Impulso Verde Kuaspue Foundation.
