Silvopastoralism is a sustainable agricultural system that combines trees in grasslands. Trees can provide additional forage and fertilize pastures while improving the ecological impact and biodiversity of the production system (few or no chemical inputs, soil cover, water filtration, etc.).
Impulso Verde wants to develop, in collaboration with UNAD (National Open and Distance University), a model of silvopastoralism for dairy farmers in the Nariño region. UNAD has been developing this silvopastoral model for more than 15 years in Colombia and supports Impulso Verde with its experience.
