Thanks to these initiatives, the region is becoming a national reference in sustainable economy.<\/span>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/q>[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: Poppins;color: black\">Southern Colombia is now home to community projects proving that sustainability and innovation can truly drive local development. For more than ten years, the Impulso Verde Kuaspue Foundation has been leading initiatives that combine ecological restoration, food sovereignty, and green entrepreneurship. Two concrete experiences illustrate this transition toward a more autonomous and climate-resilient economy.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;line-height: 107%;font-family: Poppins;color: black\">Natural Cosmetics Born in the Gran Cumbal Resguardo<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: Poppins;color: black\">In the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-family: Poppins\">Resguardo Ind\u00edgena del Gran Cumbal<\/span><\/em>, the Agroecological Association<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Poppins\">Sinchimaki<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>transforms aromatic and medicinal plants into natural cosmetic products. Since 2016, through its partnership with Impulso Verde, the community nursery has strengthened its operations and now produces more than<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Poppins\">200,000 native seedlings per year<\/span><\/strong>, contributing both to ecosystem restoration and family well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: Poppins;color: black\">A decisive turning point came in 2020 thanks to support from the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Poppins\">French Development Agency (AFD)<\/span><\/strong>, as part of the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-family: Poppins\">Economic Alternatives to Deforestation<\/span><\/em><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>initiative in Colombia.
