Luisa Delgado is part of the team
Impulso Verde Colombia Foundation
Since February 2020, Luisa Fernanda Delgado Narváez has been part of the Impulso Verde Colombia Foundation team.
Luisa grew up in the municipality of Potosí in the Department of Nariño, Colombia. She spent her childhood in a rural area and learned to do different agricultural tasks such as milking cows and growing farms. Her parents are farmers and the livelihood of her family depends on it. She has always been concerned about the felling of trees that took place on her sidewalk, for coal extraction and expansion of the agricultural frontier, therefore, her dream was to study a university career that would help her combat these activities.
In 2018, she graduated as Agricultural Engineering from the Universidad del Valle in Cali. She decided to pursue this university career because she has a deep love for sustainable agriculture. The final work she did to graduate was titled “Hydraulic battering ram pumping flow in parallel: comparison between conventional and radial connections”. This work sought to provide a solution to vulnerable families who did not have the water resource for their housing but who had a water source close to the home.
At the end of 2019, she volunteered at the Manantial de Vida Association in Potosí that works on the recovery of the vegetation of the municipality. Thanks to this experience, she met the team of the Impulso Verde Colombia Foundation that she integrated as an agricultural engineer. Luisa works on the project of valorization and transformation of natural products and on the community reforestation program.
