SUMAte al Bosque is a non-profit event dedicated to the promotion of Colombian biodiversity, created and organised since 2014 by the French association Envol Vert.

Its objective is to raise awareness among as many people as possible about the importance of biodiversity and environmental protection in Colombia. It also commemorates the International Day of Biodiversity on 22 May.
During the festival, different activities such as conferences, exhibitions, workshops and film screenings take place in order to offer the public various perspectives on biodiversity. The variety of formats allows the greatest number of people to become familiar with the challenges of preserving biodiversity.
A unique event dedicated to the preservation of biodiversity
SUMAte al Bosque is a unique space for the promotion of the richness of Colombian biodiversity. Colombia is the country with the second highest species diversity in the world and is home to almost 10% of the world’s flora and fauna.
However, Colombia is also the country that invests the least in biodiversity and ranks 27th out of the 40 countries that protect wildlife the least according to the scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

First edition in Cali
In order to raise public awareness, the festival has expanded to several cities since its inception in 2014: Bogotá, Medellín, Barranquilla, Cartagena, and for the first time the festival will take place in the city of Cali!
The Impulso Verde Foundation will organise the 8th national edition under the theme “Birds as messengers of the forests”.
