Maikov Dumas – Referent “Technician”
An agro-development engineer graduated in 2007, he created the Forestever Association in 2009, to develop agroforestry projects in Colombia’s Amazonia with indigenous communities. To date, the association has worked with 8 indigenous communities, supporting the planting of more than 50, 000 trees spread throughout over 50 species, most of them native species.
At the same time, he was responsible for the reforestation programs of the French NGO Up2green Reforestation for 8 years, overseeing social reforestation projects in several countries of América Latina (Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico) and other continents.
One of his greatest achievements was the launch and establishment of the community reforestation project in the Nariño department for 4 years. Its supervision allowed the strengthening of 4 associations and their community nurseries to carry out the planting of more than 150,000 endemic trees.
He is convinced that the well-being of rural communities is linked to sustainable biodiversity management and is passionate about the conservation and valorization of local species.
