Pasto, December 2025
From December 2 to 5, the Casona Museo Taminango transformed into an immersive setting for Soundscapes: Music of the Plants, an experience that seamlessly combined science, art, and environmental education. Led by Corponariño, the Impulso Verde Kuaspue Foundation, and neuromusician Francisco Lagos, the initiative welcomed more than a thousand visitors over four days of programming.
The event opened with an audiovisual journey through the soundscapes of the Amazon, the Pacific, and the Andes, an invitation to experience how natural sounds shape emotional well-being and deepen our connection to the territories. This artistic proposal featured contributions from filmmaker Pablo Villota, visual artist Cristhian Ramírez, and a collective of music therapists, along with technical support from CEO Jey Briceño and Open Silent Emotions, which enabled a fully immersive experience through wireless headphones.
The Impulso Verde Foundation then introduced physioelectrology, a technology that captures the micro-electrical fluctuations emitted by plants and translates them into musical patterns. This sonic translation makes the hidden inner life of plants audible. Participants also learned a striking fact: plants have existed for more than 360 million years and possess DNA that can reach up to 160 gigabases: far more complex than human DNA.

At the heart of the event was the Music of the Plants, where species such as oaks, arrayanes, ferns and rosemary generated real-time melodies. These plant-based compositions blended with a music therapy ensemble featuring Omar López, Consuelo López, Francisco Lagos, Gilberto Trujillo and Nicolás López, creating a genuine sonic dialogue between plants and musicians.
The experience offered a unique space to reflect on the connections between art, science and nature.

During BioExpo 2025, the Impulso Verde Foundation also met with the Pasto Chamber of Commerce, the Government of Nariño, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Valle del Cauca (CVC) and other regional partners. These collaborative exchanges will help advance ecological restoration efforts, environmental education and community strengthening across the territory.
Through initiatives like this, the Impulso Verde Kuaspue Foundation reaffirms its commitment to sharing scientific knowledge, elevating the value of the plant world, and promoting experiences that bring people closer to environmental stewardship.
