The communities have become aware of the decrease in water resources and have expressed their desire to reforest the areas where “water is born”. Since 2016, more than 853 000 trees have been planted.
Most of the planting is done during “mingas”, which in Pasto means “community days when families and neighbors get together for a common purpose”.
