The three community associations chose the transformation of plants by maceration with calendula (Calendula oficinallis l.), recognized for its virtues to treat, among others, muscular pains or inflammations, and with chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla, M.recutita), recognized as a healing agent.
The macerate or oleate consists of infusing, in a base or carrier oil, the plant from which we want to extract its active and medicinal principles. From these macerated oils, it is possible to produce cosmetic products such as soap, shampoo, ointments and lotions.
Impulso Verde provides theoretical and practical training in the production of macerated oils, soaps and handmade cosmetics and implemented three school lots to experiment with the cultivation of plants as raw material on a large scale.
Since 2022, we began the process of marketing honey, moisturizers, macerated oils and toothpaste directly in local farmers’ markets and with our commercial allies Pora Conciente and Samaná.
