La “Asociación Indígena de Mujeres Empresarias”

The Asociación de la Mujer Emprendedora is located in the village of La Boyera, in the municipality of Cumbal. It is made up of 45 female members, most of whom are residents of rural areas that have been affected by the armed conflict in the past. Since its inception, the organization has contributed to the community by developing activities that mainly seek to involve women in projects with a sense of leadership and ownership of the territory. The Association was born out of the struggle for the territory of the claim of rights due to insecurity. The organization was formed with the purpose of improving the quality of life of each of the associates, seeking gender equality and the participation of each of them because men, children and the elderly have also been integrated.
The association has received support from the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA), which provided technical advice and materials to build a nursery. He already has basic experience in plant propagation and tree planting.
The association is currently working with Impulso Verde Colombia to strengthen nursery, reforestation and restoration activities.
