Participation in the Latin America Green Awards competition
Impulso Verde Colombia participated in the 2020 edition of the Latin America Green Awards. The project presented aims to preserve the moorland ecosystem and water resources in the Colombian Andes. In Colombia, 60% of the water consumed comes from the páramos.
The project was able to compete in two different categories: “Water” and “Forests and Flora”. Out of 2,540 projects, the foundation’s Impulso Verde project was selected among the top 500. In the “Water” category, it took 13th place and in the “Forest and flora” category, 40th place.
The results achieved in the Latinoamérica Verde awards are encouraging, as this is Impulso Verde’s first participation. This also allows the foundation to create a professional network throughout Latin America and to learn about the projects being developed in the region.
